Hello Everyone,

My wife told me that I had a seizure in the car and one after arriving at the hospital.  At the hospital, they had to incubate (put on ventilator) and even restrain me as I was apparently violent, which I hear is not unusual for people having seizures.  A lot of prayers were lifted in my behalf and God was obviously hearing because I went from a state on Wednesday when they thought I would need serious physical therapy, plus have permanent brain damage to being fully awake and alert and just soar from what happened on Thursday.  Furthermore, I have had “Miraculous” (Doctor’s own words) healing since that time.  This is why I was moved to a regular room and then sent home.

My thanks go out first and foremost to God and then to everyone who has prayed, helped or have been concerned for me since this thing started.  I am also asking that you continue your prayers and stuff as we move forward and figure out how to pay for things like the $200 of prescription drugs that I need.  Even though I am not sure how or where the help is going to come from, I do know that God is still in control and will be handling this as the many prayers of the faithful continue to go out.

I will keep you posted as to my recovery and how God is continuing to move.

INTRODUCTION

We are continuing in the Sharing The Faith Series with a testimony about sharing with the waitress of our table at a restaurant that we frequented.

SHARING THE FAITH PART III - BEING A BLESSING

As I shared on a previous post (The Waitress), I am in the habit of asking the waiter or waitress if there anything we can pray for them about after they take our order and before we say grace. Almost every time I ask, I receive an answer of an actual need of the waiter or waitress that they would like us to pray about. This will typically open the door for sharing later during the meal as the Lord leads.

One such night, my family and I were at Chili’s restaurant. We had a very nice waitress named Whitney. As she finished taking our order, I asked the question of whether she had something that we could pray for her about. Without missing a beat, she immediately informed us that she would like us to pray for her son. I asked for her son’s name and she told me. I then took the hands of my family and said grace. I was uniquely aware of the fact that our waitress had not left the area, but was listening to us as we prayed. This did not bother me, but it was a new occurrence and immediately, I knew this would be an open door.

As the appetizer came out, I inquired more about the waitresses son. She informed us that he was not walking yet and that everyone was telling her there was something wrong with her son. Being the obviously loving mother she was, this was the last thing she wanted for her son. She then asked us about our children and when and how they started walking. We informed her and much to her relief, she discovered that only one of our three children were walking by the age of her son and that all of our children turned out normal. We could tell this was a tremendous relief to her.

As the main course came out, I took the liberty, as we had already established a basis for communication, to ask her if she knew about Jesus. She was aware of him, but admitted that she did not know that much about him. I had the opportunity to briefly share with her about the wonder of Jesus Christ and hand her a tract. I further asked her if she had a church that she had attended in the past and she admitted that her family went to a certain church. I told her that if she was not happy with that church she was more then welcome to come to ours, but if she enjoyed that church I encouraged her to return.

When the bill came out, Whitney engaged us in more conversation about God and about our children. By now, there was little doubt that this was a divine appointment. As she walked off, God spoke to me to give her what amounted to just about a hundred percent tip. Since I knew that God’s economy works through giving and tithing, I was more then happy to give to Whitney. She returned to take the check and ask if we wanted change. I told her no and we said our goodbyes as we were gathering to leave.

On the way out, out of the corner of my eye, I saw her crying tears of joy. During the conversation we had earlier, we had learned that money was tight and I am certain that she was not expecting such a good tip. However, God had a plan and I was only an instrument to being a blessing for her and one that I am sure she will not soon forget. Not because of me, but because of God meeting her in that restaurant.

SCRIPTURE

God desires that all would come to him and when we share the faith with others we get the chance to be the instrument that God uses to not only bless but win souls. It is the greatest ministry we can ever perform. And it seems like God is never nearer to you then when you and him are partnered in sharing about his love.

CONCLUSION

Again, I encourage you to open yourself up to being lead by the spirit to share the faith. The rewards are endless both here and in heaven.
