INTRODUCTION
I am beginning a series of posts that are going to list some testimonies about Sharing The Faith. This has been birthed because some of my friends have felt the fear that the enemy brings about sharing. Fears of I will not know enough or I may not do it right or I may push them farther away or one of many other things that the enemy throws at us. However, God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and love and sound mind. Therefore, I think it is appropriate to share some testimonies about sharing our faith with others to encourage everyone to share their faith as God leads.
SHARING THE FAITH PART I - A CHILD’S GRACE
We were still living in New Jersey and had taken the family out to Pizza Hut, a family favorite. The year was 1999 and my eldest daughter, Katie, was about five years old at the time. Excited and full of energy as she sat in the restaurant. As a family, we decided some time ago that we would still say grace when in a restaurant because we still wanted to thank God and receive the food as a blessing. So, after we ordered, Katie asked me if she could say grace. The proud father that I am was more then happy to see my daughter step up in faith and desire to speak to God, so I naturally said yes.
This is where things got interesting. Katie stood up on the bench seat in the restaurant and proceeded to thank God for the food at the top of her lungs. I must of turned four shades of red as she did this and I even was trying to get her to sit back down. However, my attempts were to no avail and she was able to complete her prayer and sat back down with the biggest smile I think I had ever seen on her face.
Now, you must understand that I was both proud and embarrassed. I was proud of my daughters rock solid faith and her desire to proclaim to the world what she believed. On the other hand, I was fully embarrassed at my daughters interruption of everyone in the restaurants dining experience. I ask Katie why she did what she did when she said grace and she told me that she was “Saying grace for everyone so that everyone could be blessed.”
Well, my embarrassment turned to shame. I realized that the reason I was embarrassed was because I was worried about what others might think of me or my beliefs. In a strange way, I was ashamed of my beliefs at that moment because I didn’t want the restaurant to know what we were doing. At the same time, I was beaming over my daughter who had shown me an area of needed work in my walk with God and expanded my faith.
Now, if all this was not enough, an elderly couple had walked up to our table after they had finished their meals. They wanted to stop by and thank Katie for doing what she did. They told us that charged their faith in Jesus so much to see such a young child so on fire for Jesus and they encouraged her to keep on doing what she was doing. As you can imagine, that smile on Katie’s face just got all the bigger.
SCRIPTURE
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
My daughter was not ashamed of what she believed and because of that everyone at the restaurant was blessed and one elderly couple had their faith charged. Not to mention that my faith was increased as well.
CONCLUSION
Sharing The Faith can be a daunting task as the enemy is ever present to convince us that we will mess it up. However, when we move out of our comfort zones for Jesus, we see the power of God move. I encourage everyone today to follow the prompting of God and Share The Faith with people today.

WOW hehe
First of all, how cool is it that you lived in NJ in 1999. Where did you say it was again? Pizza Huts were all over the place then, but now, I don’t think there are very many at all, if any. Anyway, I think it is very cool, as I can really relate to my Jersey Bro!
Second, I am just in awe at your daughter. She is definitely set aside for a special purpose for God and you can see it by what you share about her. And when she said she was “Saying grace for everyone so that everyone could be blessed” I proclaimed verbally a big loud “WOW!”. Hehe, I think that woke my family up :P
Isn’t it awesome how our children teach us things? The faith of a child, eh? My kids have shown me a thing or two. Guess thats why God tells us to have the faith as one :)
Awesome, awesome post, JH! You are definitely gifted and anointed :)
I lived in Edison and the Pizza Hut that we used to go to was off of Route 1 in North Brunswick next to Franklin Park (Link to Map).
Love in Christ,
JH
I had to click the reload button this time but got in. As to the podcast great job! I see you are like me you start with one tone of voice and all most switch to another! I tell Sherry all the time out of the mouth of bab’s with some of the thing the grand kids come up with! It is so good to know that maybe some of what we tell them is being retained! We must remember that they are always watching and learning! I know my road rage is better control when then are with us!
God Bless

We are a pray-before-you-eat family- except for when we are in public. We definitely need to work on being comfortable with sharing the love. Thanks for the reminder!
Glad to hear your podcast. Keep it up!
Jen
JH,
Great podcast and fantastic witness! I totally enjoyed the whole thing, bravo! I love the heart of a child. My kids have taught me more about true faith than I have ever thought possible.
