Keep the power going

July 12th, 2007 Posted in Podcast

A wide-spread power failure on Tuesday prevented me from getting this podcast out on time. It also gave me an idea for this podcast. In this episode of Jesus Geek I’ll be talking about back power for your computer, why you need a UPS and some suggestions on how to go about purchasing a UPS.

Note: at the beginning of the podcast I say that the price of a UPS can range from $200 to a couple hundred dollars. I meant to say $20 to a couple hundred dollars.

Cool I feel empowered! Great advice thanks. However use strictly laptops at the house so this is a non issue for me.

    Buford,

That’s a common misconception. A power surge or spike can damage your ac adapter or fry the sensitive electronics in your battery. Even if you’re using a laptop, especially if it’s plugged in more than not, you should have at least a surge protector but I’d recommend a UPS as well.
