How-to restore a .BKF file in Vista

Simple, download the Windows NT Backup - Restore Utility and follow these simple steps to make your transition to Windows Vista easier.
- Enable Removable Storage Management in Windows Vista
- Install Windows NT Backup - Restore Utility
- Restore your files
What!? You expected a video or something showing you how to do this? OK, have a look at this:
If you’re a more advanced user, you could install Windows XP NTBackup in Vista by copying the following files from an XP installation to C:\Program Files\NTBackup\ on your Vista machine:
- C:\Windows\System32\Ntbackup.exe
- C:\Windows\System32\Ntmsapi.dll
- C:\Windows\System32\Vssapi.dll
- C:\Windows\Help\Ntbackup.chm
- C:\Windows\Help\Ntbackup.hlp
The last two files aren’t necessary, they’re just help files, but you may want them just in case you forget how to backup your files. Create a shortcut to NTBackup somewhere and blammo, you’re in business.
