Godcasting 101: Promoting Your Podcast Part 1
January 10th, 2008 Posted in Godcasting 101, Podcast, ThursdayThis portion of the series went a little long so I’ve divided it into two parts. That’s also why it was late. In this podcast I talk about ways to promote your podcast. Since there is no feedback from this week, I’ll release part two tomorrow. Here’s a quick rundown of all of them that topics will be covered in both parts:
Promote Your Podcast Using
- Word of mouth
- Commenting on other blogs
- Commenting on other podcasts
- Trackbacks or pingback to other blogs and podcasts
- Yahoo and Google groups
- Social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace
- RSS feeds
- Mailing lists
- Forums
- Voicemail
All of these methods can be used to promote your podcast. Listen in and get some ideas. I probably should take my own advice when it comes to doing this because I only use a few of the methods I mention.
Next week in part 11 I’ll cover how to retain regular listeners to your podcast.

Very Helpful! I am going to go listen to the second part right now. After listening to this, I want to go find a bunch of forums or blogs to start participating in. Hopefully that would get anyone to visit my site.
I know God will bring whoever He wishes to my website, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t try to find to tips to make it more accessible, right? Thank you for these tips, they opened up my ideas about how to get a bit of publicity.
