Godcasting 101: Promoting Your Podcast Part 2

January 11th, 2008 Posted in Friday, Godcasting 101, Podcast

This portion of the series went a little long so I’ve divided it into two parts. This is part 2. In this podcast I talk about ways to promote your podcast. Since there is no feedback from this week, I’ve released part two today. Here’s a quick rundown of all of the that topics will be covered in both parts:

Promote Your Podcast Using

  • Word of mouth
  • Commenting on other blogs
  • Commenting on other podcasts
  • Trackbacks or pingback to other blogs and podcasts
  • Yahoo and Google groups
  • Social networking sites like Facebook and MySpace
  • RSS feeds
  • Mailing lists
  • Forums
  • Voicemail
  • Email

All of these methods can be used to promote your podcast. Listen in and get some ideas. I probably should take my own advice when it comes to doing this because I only use a few of the methods I mention.

Next week in part 11 I’ll cover how to retain regular listeners to your podcast.
