Migrating to Podango Show Builder Lite

January 17th, 2008 Posted in Blog Post, Videos

I recently received an email from Podango alerting me about the transition from Gigavox Media Lite to Podango Show Builder Lite. This is what scared me:

Change all SmartDelivery URLs if you have SmartDelivery enabled. URLs that used to point to media.gigavox.net need to be pointed to media.podango.net.

I have over 60 podcasts that are hosted on their servers! I thought I was in for a lot of work over the next day and a half. I started thinking and came up with a solution that uses two plugins, Search and Replace by Mark Cunningham and WordPress Database Backup by Scott Merrill.

First, let me say thank you to both of these guys for writing two easy to install and use plugins. So without further ado, here’s the process:

  • Download and install the two plugins (links above)
  • Backup your database using WordPress Database Backup
  • Use Search and Replace to find media.gigavox.net and replace it with media.podango.net

This is really great. As one of the admins of Podango this is great to see. Thank you for doing this.
