On the “EVE” of Commercial Spaceflight

Virgin Galactic has unveiled the White Knight 2 , aka “EVE”, which will ferry Space Ship 2 and it’s wealthy clientele looking for the thrill if space flight. Believe me when I say that if I had the ducats I would be all over this like a corn dog on a stick. The thrill of flying out of our atmosphere and seeing the earth curve below me is one I hope to eventually experience in my lifetime,
Christened “EVE” in honor of Sir Richard’s mother, who performed the official naming ceremony, WK2 is both visually remarkable and represents ground-breaking aerospace technology. It is the world’s largest all carbon composite aircraft and many of its component parts have been built using composite materials for the very first time. At 140 ft, the wing spar is the longest single carbon composite aviation component ever manufactured.
How about you? Would you take a flight into space if it were offered to you free of charge? Let’s say Richard Branson knocked on your door and said, “Hey, someone bailed out on us and we need to fill a seat. It’s your if you want it,” would you squeak with glee as I would?
You can get more information about “EVE” at Virgin Galactic’s website as well as the press release and photos.
