About Jesus Geek

Jesus Geek PodcastAbout the Podcast
Jesus Geek is a technology podcast hosted by a Christian, geek, amateur astronomer and homeschooling dad. Updated weekly, it features news about technology, gadgets, and computers (both PC and Mac) and tutorials. You’ll hear about technology, not from an insider, but from someone on the outside looking in. It’s a different perspective that I think you’ll find refreshing.

In addition, each podcast contains a spiritual element, whether it’s a reading from scripture or devotional (My Utmost for His Highest is my favorite) or an exposition on scripture by the host.

About the Jesus Geek
I’m a Jesus-loving, homeschooling geek and ex-Army brat. My hobbies include martial arts, technology, travel and motor sports. I’m a dedicated husband and loving father of 7 beautiful children. I don’t own any pets so you won’t find pictures of cute cats and dogs here.

I’ve been using computers since the days of the Commodore VIC-20. I have fond memories of typing in programs from the back of Run, saving them to tape and hunting through PEEKs and POKEs to find errors. Since then I’ve owned dozens of computers many of which have been scratch-built. I’ve had a passion for technology since grade school.

I’m currently employed by one of the top technology universities in the United States as an Information Technology (jack of all trades, master of none).

It is my desire to become a technology missionary, providing technical support and advice to Christian churches and ministries. This podcast is the first step in bringing that vision to fruition.

Jay from Apologetix and meOne of my favorite bands is Apologetix and at one of their concerts I was able to take some time to speak with Jay, the lead singer. Here’s a picture of Jay and myself after the concert. I never realized how tall Jay is. I’m 6′2″, I think he’s about 6′5″. If you ever get a chance to see them in concert it’s worth the money. Apologetix puts on a great show and they’re family-safe!

I do a little singing myself and some people have archived files from the podcast of me singing Christmas carols. They’re probably hiding on the Internet somewhere and will come back to haunt me in 50 years. The Internet never forgets!
