We start off with a clarification on being saved from the power of sin.
Dr. Miller and Carol continue to look more closely at the salvation of the soul.
Matthew 11:28-30
28Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
8 Characteristics of Salvation of the Soul
- Present Tense Salvation - Sanctification -Salvation of the Soul is a process
- Being saved from the power of sin.
- Begins the moment our spirit is saved and continues throughout our life.
- Is not a free gift.
- Salvation of the spirit is not of works but a free gift.
- Salvation of the soul is of works of faith. -not of self.
- Salvation of the soul is not assured.
- Philippians 2:12-13
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
- Salvation of the soul will be determined at the Judgment Seat of Christ
- The saved soul will be granted reward at the Judgment Seat of Christ.
- The soul not saved will suffer loss at the Judgment Seat of Christ -but not the loss of Heaven.

Dr. Miller and Carol clarify some things talked about in the last class and then take questions.
Reconcile Acts 10 and Romans 10:9-10.
Acts 10:44
44While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message.
Romans 10:9-10
9That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

Dr. Miller and Carol introduce the three aspects of the salvation of man. Focusing on the first aspect in this lesson.
(See Materials for diagram)
Salvation of the Spirit - Justification
Saved in the past tense, from death, from separation from God, from the Lake of Fire.
This is immediate at the time of decision, it is free.
Acts 16:30-31
30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Security of Salvation applies to this aspect: Ephesians 2:8-9 , Romans 4:5 , Acts 10:43-44
_____________________________________________________
The other aspects to be covered soon:
Salvation of Soul - Sanctification
Salvation of the Body - Glorification
