MC #84 Every Blessing Ours in Christ
December 5th, 2008 by micharlie
Every Spiritual Blessing Ours in Christ
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. (Ephesians 1:3)
Living day by day by grace is essentially about developing an intimate relationship with the Lord.
When Paul offered grateful praise to the Lord: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Paul’s thanksgiving was for what the Father has given to us: “who has blessed us.” Notice, the verb is in the past tense — this has already happened. What is it that has already been given to us? It is “every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.” Think of it. This truth is staggering in its implications. Every grace resource that heaven has to offer is already ours here on earth. This does not mean that we are fully aware of all that has been given to us. Certainly, it does not mean that we are experiencing all of these blessings. Yet, it does mean that they are all ours to draw upon for fullness of life here on earth!
The reason these rich blessings are ours is that they all reside in Christ. In Christ is forgiveness, righteousness, and wisdom. Also, love, joy, and peace are found in Him. In Christ dwell victory, discernment, and courage. Moreover, compassion, strength, and perseverance are part of who He is.
In John1:16 we find — From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another.
Johnson Oatman, Jr. , 1856-1922 was or¬dained as a Meth¬od¬ist Epis¬co¬pal min¬is¬ter, wrote the song COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS the Refrain from this song is one I have always liked:
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
Have you stopped to count your many blessing from God? .
Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men. Well until next time this MI Charlie wishing each of you a God Blessed week.

MC #83 THANKSGIVING
November 26th, 2008 by micharlie
THANKSGIVING
Psalms 95: 2-3 — Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.
On November 11, 1620, William Bradford the first governor of the new arrivals to what was to become the United States of America; with help from the others on the Mayflower wrote a document that would be known as the Mayflower Compact. These pilgrims stated the following:
IN THE name of God, Amen.
We whose names are underwritten, the loyal subjects of our dread sovereign Lord, King James, by the grace of God, of Great Britain, France and Ireland king, defender of the faith, etc., having undertaken,
for the glory of God, and advancement of the Christian faith, and honor of our king and country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the Northern parts of Virginia, do by these presents solemnly and mutually in the presence of God, and one of another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politic, for our better ordering and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof to enact, constitute, and frame such just and equal laws, ordinances, acts, constitutions, and offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the colony, unto which we promise all due submission and obedience.
In witness whereof we have hereunder subscribed our names at Cape-Cod the 11 of November, in the year of the reign of our sovereign lord, King James, of England, France, and Ireland the eighteenth, and of Scotland the fifty-fourth. Anno Domine 1620.
I give thanks for all my Christian friends and the great fellowship and support they have given me in my sickness!
2 Corinthians 9:12 — Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

MC #81 MENTORS
October 13th, 2008 by micharlie
MENTORS
Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening or Good Night what ever the time of day you listen to this the 81st MI Charlie RAVE. Coming To you from the Beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan!
About two hours after getting the news that the cancer had spread to the right lung now; I received an e-mail telling me that a dear friend who has been fighting cancer for the last six years had taken a turn for the worst! Tom carried a plan for salvation with him and would hand them out to those that were near! Tom started each morning like he had in basic training for the marines, with push ups and sit ups, 300 every day!
In May of 2007 we had traveled to Madison, WI so our son could have surgery. We stayed at a campground and met a man whose name was Phil Jacobus. Phil was riding a tike that was interesting to Sherry and he let her take it for a spin. While talking with Phil we found out he had much in common with me. He had worked in the electric industry, he was a Christian, he spent time in the summer at the UP Bible Camp at Little Lake and he too had major medical problems. Phil was fighting cancer, turning it over to God and was getting by for longer that the doctors gave him. Phil and I have been sending e-mails of encouragement and support every since! He has a blog in which he keep family and friend informed of what has been going on in his life. Phil would ride his tike on 100 mile rides long after the doctors told him he would not be able to do it!
His blog can be found at;
http://philjacobus.blogspot.com/
“Jesus Understands” by Beverly J. Anderson, that was posted on Phil’s blog.
“My Savior knows my every need, He notes the tears that fall; He knows when sorrow overwhelms, and heeds my anguished call.
He cares when I am faint of heart, and hope is almost gone; He understands my loneliness as grey clouds hide the dawn.
Tis then His nearness comforts me in such a blessed way assuring me He will share my grief, and never from me stray.
Within the shelter of His arms there’s refuge from my fears, as Jesus soothes my broken heart, and wipes away all tears.
His presence brings sweet peace to me, His love becomes the light that penetrates my troubled soul and lifts the veil of night!”
This poem says so much in so few words, summing up our savior! No matter what the trial that is placed in out life walk, Jesus and Father God are always with us!
“God Is In Control” by Chris Christensen found at:
http://chris2x.com/songs/
God is in control
Oh, oh, oh
God is in control
His arm is still long
His strength is still strong
He has been there all along
God is in control
Oh, oh, oh
God is in control
Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men. Well until next time this MI Charlie wishing each of you a God Blessed week.

MC #80 Waiting Game
September 23rd, 2008 by micharlie
Waiting Game!
Heal me, O LORD, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise. – Jeremiah 17:14
I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will guide him and restore comfort to him,19 creating praise on the lips of the mourners in Israel. Peace, peace, to those far and near,” says the LORD. “And I will heal them.” - - Isaiah 57:18
With the planned chemo trestments now done, I play the waiting game. God has given me many great things over the last few months. Yes, the chemo has left me both physically weak and mentally exhausted many times, but God has given HOPE!
Those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength . . . And I will wait on the LORD, Who hides His face from the house of Jacob; and I will hope in Him . . . And it will be said in that day: “Behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He will save us. This is the LORD; we have waited for Him; we will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.” (Isa_40:31; Isa_8:17; and Isa_25:9)
“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.. 2Peter 3:8 “
I have the honor to have God healing my body, while also strengthen my walk with Him. God has been caring a load with me and the single set of foot prints in the sand are very deep. I pray for those that are going though treatment for cancer that do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as Savoir! I know that no matter the out come for me it will be Gods will and that all the bad things here on earth will be gone!
Revelation 21:3 – 4 –And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
My cancer doctor does not seem to like it when I say to him that he is doing the work but only God can do the healing! As for those I meet during the treatment I can only continue to give God the Praise and Glory for what He is doing in my life!
Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 2Timony 3:12
Giving all things to God and leaving them with Him is one of the hardest things I have had to do! Now that I do leave it with God my faith has grown! Even those things that turn out different than I would like it, God has a reason for all that He does or does not do!
I have heard that faith is like the wind; we can feel it and we know it has power, but we can not see it! God has shown me His power in my life, and my faith has grown immeasurably!
Hebrews 11:1 — Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.(NIV)
God Bless each and everyone of you,
Charlie

MC #79 Loss but found!
September 21st, 2008 by micharlie
This was a post that I never got up and is a bit old, but will be good as always!
CHATCHING UP!
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. - 2 Corinthians 1:2 - (NIV)
I should begin with a shout out to ever one who has sent e-mails, cards, letters, and phoned. I thank God each day for each and every one of you!
Our living God has been working over time on my behalf! As I prepare to start round three of chemo I have not been sick from the chemo. I did have a bout of dehydration, which I do not want to do again I pray, I’m getting to old for amusement park rides, especially when it is only the feeling you get when riding them!
Back on May 18th when the doctor told me of the masses in my lung I once again gave it to our Lord, for His will to be done, and the strength to accept what He had in store for me! When the biopsy showed that it is small cell lung cancer, which is a fast growing type, and was in the lymph nodes, I really lifted it to the Lord! After meeting the cancer doctor I was not going to do anything as far as treatment; back in 1982 when I had cancer the first time, I had made up my mind that chemo and radiation where something that I would not endure! I had worked with too many cancer patients and seen first hand the side effects that reduced the quality of life they had, many lived four or five months, sick and unable to do anything for them self’s and out of it due to the pain medicines they were on, only to die anyway! I can not do a whole lot, but still I am able to do some stuff with my grand kids!
The night after meeting with the doctor and telling him I would not do chemo, a calm came over me, it was as if God was telling me to take the chemo, as He was with me!
Sherry shared with me a passage written by Jeremiah talking to the Babylonian’s – Jeremiah 29:10 – 13 which is as true today as when it was written so many years ago -
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
God has a plan for each of us and will be with us always if we “call upon Him and pray to Himâ€, we must also stop and listen for His answer! It has taken me a long time to learn to stop and listen and not try to do it on my own, as I am weak, but God is strong, the rock that I have built the foundation of my faith on.
2 Corinthians 1:3 – 7 -Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. 5 For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. 6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7 And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.
It is so true for me God is my comforter and will get me through this trial! If you have a trial lay it at the cross of Jesus and give it to God, He can be your rock also! Thanks for all the prayers, cards and calls, as the above passage tells us my “comfort overflows!â€
On Tuesday July 8, I start round three of chemo, which is working as the masses are get smaller (the big one is .7cm or ¾ inch for us non metric types and the smaller one is .4cm or ¼ inch), Praise be to God. He will bring me thought this round also I am sure! The doctor tells us that this is a good sign and the prognosis is good for getting it in remission!
At church I was asked “What are you, The Energy Bunny?†To which I replayed, “No better, I am charge with the Holy Sprit of the one true God, which has the power to over come all!â€God Bless each and everyone of you,
Charlie

MC #78 Miracles of Jesus Christ!
February 27th, 2008 by micharlie
Miracles of Jesus Christ
Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening or Good Night what ever the time of day you listen to this the 78th MI Charlie RAVE. Coming To you from the Beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan!
Do you believe that there are Miracles from God today? I do, as I prepare this podcast it has been a week since God has given me and my family two! That’s right at this time a week ago Sherry was at my side as they tried to take me off the ventilator.
True it was not as great as what we read Jesus did when He healed all the sick found in Matthew 8:16 – 17 - When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. 17 This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah:
For Sherry and I it was as big as when Jesus raise Lazarus found in John 11:1-45 and also like the days of Jesus we have renewed our faith in Jesus. JN 11:45 Therefore many of the Jews who had come to visit Mary, and had seen what Jesus did, put their faith in him.
Have you seen a miracle of Jesus?
Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men. Well until next time this MI Charlie wishing each of you a God Blessed week.

MC #77 NOTHING IN TO THE WORLD!
January 25th, 2008 by micharlie
“NOTHING IN TO THE WORLD!â€
Long time to talk! Feeling a bit better so here goes!
1 Timothy 6:6 -But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it. 8 But if we have food and clothing, we will be content with that. 9 People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction. 10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
God Commands us to work!
Exodus 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace, good will toward men. Well until next time this MI Charlie wishing each of you a God Blessed week.

MC #76 A FRIEND GONE HOME!
January 9th, 2008 by micharlie
“A FRIEND GONE HOME!â€
Tuesday evening Sherry and I attended funeral for a friend from church. I was hit by several things during the service.
First was seeing the size of one person family and the effect he had on the world! Joe had 10 kids, so his family was large. Over and over again we heard of his love of the Lord!
Next I learned of how humble Joe was! He served in the Navy during World War Two as a corpsman.
Lastly I was moved by the military rites honoring a fallen comrade! I watch these older men and women passing by one who had served!
Historically the places and the titles may have changed, but our armed forces should be just as favorably valued as the Centurions of the Bible. Being a soldier was highly revered. For example, Paul describes Epaphroditus, a fellow Christian as a “fellow soldier†(Philippians 2:25). The Bible also uses military terms to describe being strong in the Lord by putting on the whole armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-20).
Romans 13:1-5 gives us the God-ordained role of government in society:
1) to govern with authority from God (v1-2)
2) to praise the good in society (v4)
3) to punish the evildoer in society (v4)
4) to bear the sword and execute wrath against wrongdoers (v4)
No matter what our views on the current war, we must never forget those that have served to give us the freedom to voice our opinions. We must never stop voicing those opinions to our elected officials as in the end we all are the government!
George Santayana: Philosopher, poet, literary and cultural critic, once wrote – “Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.â€
Let us not repeat the treatment of the Vietnam Solders!
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Well until next time this MI Charlie wishing each of you a God Blessed week.
