Speaking
My Language

Is it
possible to speak the same language but not understand each other? Of course it
is.

I
recently discovered that the White House is podcast friendly and while
listening to a weekly address by President Bush it occurred to me.

Eventually
uncommon information could become so ubiquitous, so fluid, that at some point the
language of conversations that confuse us, such as politics, could eventually
become everyday common concepts to all of us.

Maybe
this is meant by the idea that we only use 10% of our brain.  I mean, we go through school and we learn basic
concepts. We learn math and science, reading and writing, and things like
that.  But there’s a whole world of
information out there that we don’t come in contact with on a regular basis and
as a result we tend to ignore it because it usually leads to confusion or
frustration.

It’s not
that we can?t understand all the information that is out there.  It’s just that it’s not common to us.  It’s not something that we interact with
everyday so we don’t pay attention to it. Then, when we do hear it, it’s new to
us and unfamiliar. Frankly, it’s confusing. So, we find ourselves being
frustrated by it. So, we end up not listening to some of the more important
things in life that directly or indirectly affect us most.  Like politics.

For
example, we know that politicians have their own language.  They deal every day with terms that we don’t
understand because we don?t use them.  To
some degree, that may be an advantage to them, but for the most part it’s just
how they do business, like doctors or lawyers.

However,
if as the ordinary citizens we understood some of these terms we might pay more
attention to what they say when they say it. And if we paid more attention and
understood the concepts, we might have a more active voice where we should.

One of
the technologies that might help bridge this gap is podcasting.  For example, today you can subscribe to a
podcast that is produced by the White House.  Currently, they publish everything from weekly radio addresses to news
briefs, and you can get it delivered right to your MP3 player.

Now, I
understand that today only the people who are truly interested in that type of stuff
would actually subscribe to a Whitehouse podcast.  But, as this form of information distribution
becomes more and more mainstream, and uncommon information becomes more common,
then eventually the gap between the White House and the man on the street begins
to narrow.

No longer
do we have to rely on a news sources to translate for us and ?explain? to us
what the politicians said.  Rather, we
can hear it right from their mouths and question their comments and actions
with our own brains.

Keep in
mind that at first, what they say and how they say it will be foreign to us, at
least to some degree.  But, as we become more
familiar with the concepts, we will begin to better understand what they’re
talking about.

Now I
know what you’re thinking, politicians will always guard their words.  And if they know that we?re listening, they?ll
tend to use the least common denominator in language to talk to us, but the
sheer fact that they can talk directly to us is something that has never
happened before.

And that
is exciting.

Whats All This Talk About American Idol
By David Fishman

American Idol was created by the Simon Cowell and Simon Jones, since
American Idol has been on tv it has reached a level of popularity which
is unmatched by even the Super bowl. Simon Cowell has since produced
American Inventor and the latest television talent competition,
America’s Got Talent.

American idol concert tickets may seem
unattainable as being a contestant on the show, however this is an
illusion, all it requires is keeping an ear out and simple planning.
The people who tune in to watch ?American Idol? are young, since the
major stats how this the producers don?t want older contestants, since
this would not be interesting to a younger viewer. Although the judges
provide feedback to the contestants on ways to improve their
performance, and each contestant works with a coach throughout the week
to prepare the song they will sing that week on the ?American Idol?
broadcast, the final decision on who stays and who goes lies with the
voters. Each contestant needs two out of three votes, and if the vote
is in the contestant?s favor, he or she gets the famous yellow ticket
and is sent to Hollywood for a week of exhausting performances and
tough judging. If the contestants impress either or both of these two
men, the contestant is then able to reach the highest stage of judging
– meeting Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.

American
idol concert ticket dates can be purchased through presales, a type of
purchase that limits the market making tickets more available to them.
But the ones who take a chance, do whatever it takes to get themselves
to an American Idol audition where they’re competing with hundreds of
thousands of people and their odds of making it are next to nothing.

The
show hosts pop music icons every week. Finding the right Singing
Teacher is a difficult task if you want to achieve your goals of being
a star in the music industry. It’s the contrasts in music that make a
song interesting. The filtering process gives a chance for the people
at home to start liking some of the lads and lasses they see on the
tube.

When you are on an audition you will have to endure the
pouring rain, intense summer sun, you will not be able to sleep in a
comfortable bed or take a shower just so you can get a chance to try to
sing in front of the judges to be accepted to appear on the show as
trying out.

American Idol is all about being hip, in line with
what is hot today, having the right look and being unique. Being unique
and having a great sound will go far with the judges.

Site Promotion Through Web Awards
By Scott Lindsay

Website promotion is not an easy task, because thousands of new websites are created each day, each of them striving for a position in the first search engine results, some using ethical techniques, others try to fool the search engines. If you want to achieve a top 20 position you have to compete against spam content sites, black hat SEO sites, made for Adsense sites and powerful websites created by the most skilled web developers.

The good news is that are not so many websites of genuine quality out there, so webmasters who really focus on usability, valuable content, improving user experience and so on, do have a chance to reach the top positions. However, it is not enough to create the perfect website. The job is done when the website is known and recognized, when people come back, mesmerized by the information and design, in one word, quality. That?s also the moment when a website starts paying back for itself.

Webmasters and online entrepreneurs employ many tools to make a website known. From the simple directory and search engines submissions to complex advertising means, pay per click, banner exchange and ads, nothing escapes the trial. A less popular method is submitting websites for web awards. While many web awards are not really meaningful, there are a few that can mean a lot for the award wining website.

If you have a website and you are serious about doing business online, applying for web awards couldn?t hurt. Generally, awards show a commitment for excellence and quality, exactly what web users are looking for. The psychological impact is great. A web award is not just a pretty picture on your website, but a statement. It underlines values and encourages visitors to trust your company and make a purchase.

For example, a Webby award-wining site is actually recognized for excellence in Web design, creativity, usability and functionality. A World Wide Web Award serves the same purpose. Both these awards are prestigious and very difficult to win. They are significant because experienced web developers who make every effort to create compelling and innovative websites, for a better Internet, choose the winners. To have any of the two can bring important benefits to your website, including increase of traffic, media coverage (both online and offline), a boost of popularity and, as already underlined, enhanced public credibility.

Usually to qualify for a web award, a website needs to be developed according to the W3C Standards, to have original, quality content, to be spam and scam free, family and children friendly ? eventually apply for a free ICRA label, to respect copyright laws and to promote moral and universal values. If you apply for a web award you have to make sure all your links are fully functional ? that means no coming soon or under construction pages, no broken links, and no other technical difficulties (dead graphics and pictures, lack of proper alt attributes, heavy flash, etc).

Winning a web award could bring you recognition offline too. Just ad the award on your brochures, fliers and other promotional materials to let people know that y
our company strives for excellence in everything it does.

Men’s Fashion - Developing Your Own Individual Style
By Kelly Price

Mens fashion and style interests men more today than ever, as they
realize that looking good is an asset in every aspect of their lives:
Business, personal or, social.

The fact is, a well groomed man will get a second look, your personality may be great but first impressions count.

If
you are serious about making the right impression you need to check out
men?s fashion and adapt it to your own personalized style.

Get a stylish look your comfortable with

Some
men feel confident enough to do this for themselves, for those who are
less confident an image consultant can be employed, to give help and
advice.

Fashion & Style

In today’s world, to stay one
step ahead, it’s important to look your best. That means developing
your own sense of style and this does not simply mean following
fashions and trends for the sake of it.

There is a big difference between being stylish and just following the latest men?s fashion trends for the sake of them.

A
fashion victim is someone who wants follow all the latest men?s fashion
trends regardless of whether they suit their body shape looks or, age
and is someone who can’t put his look together.

Looking your best
does require a certain amount of effort, but ultimately, your clothes
have to fit right, and suit your style, image and personality.

Keep in mind, it’s not about the clothes you wear — it’s about how you wear them.

The most important aspect of developing your own style is remaining true to yourself.
Just because something looked great on a model doesn’t necessarily mean it’s for you!

There are enough styles out there, so that everyone can be comfortable finding their own.

Be yourself

Wear what you think looks good, not what others believe is trendy.

You
should always feel comfortable with what you’re wearing, so stick to
items that suit your personality and style, while keeping the occasion
and setting in mind.

David Beckham may be able to get away with wearing a sarong but this probably is not be the best look for you!

The key with men?s fashion is always to match it to your personality, age and personal features.

Don?t Overdo It

Don?t try and make to much of an effort to look fashionable that you end up overdoing it.

You don’t have to wear every single trendy item you own, all at once.

By all means buy fashionable pieces, if they suit you and mix and match them with the basics in your wardrobe.

Maintain balance

Keep a good balance of basic and fashionable
clothes in your wardrobe.

As
a rule of thumb, not more than half of your wardrobe should not consist
of trendy clothes, or worse, clothes that are out of style.

Don’t Be A Slave To The Media & Brands

Don’t base your look solely on what you see in magazines and on TV.

Celebrities
and models often overdo trends for attention and media exposure, and
their look will not necessarily work well in the real world or for you.

Finally, don?t be influenced by brand names just because a brand has a great reputation, doesn?t mean it will look good on you.

death during winter storms is transportation accidents. Preparing your
vehicle and yourself for the winters and being aware of due course of
action to react are the keys to safe winter driving.

When the
winters are back, there are certain pre-requisites to be kept in mind
to set out the new term ?Winter Road Safety?. Similar to the driving

snow or icy driving conditions.

This
section outlines on some of the simple survival cues to remember in
winter drives. Though not set forth by DMV, these have been prescribed
by the physicians as well experienced drivers.

get confused in the storm and may not be able to get back to your car.
